Off late there has been a shift in the kind of Bollywood films that are hitting the entertainment market. From cliched happy ending romances, actors are seen choosing films that talk about the taboos of our country. And going by the trailers, PadMan is one such film. After delivering a film like Toilet- Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar is now talking about menstrual cycles. Based on the life of a social activist from Tamil Nadu Arunachalam Muruganantham, PadMan will take discussion around menstrual cycle to every household.
In the film, Akshay Kumar is seen playing the role of Arunachalam who has the idea of making a sanitary napkin for the women in his village. He gifts those sanitary napkins to his sisters and his wife. In one scene he is also seen trying the pad himself.
The R Balki directorial, PadMan also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. PadMan will hit the theatres on January 26th, 2018.
